. Most cases occur in adults (median age, 52 years). A subset of cases occurs in patients with mediastinal germ cell tumour, most commonly malignant teratoma, with or without yolk sac tumour component. Others may be associated with malignant lymphoma or with myelodysplasia and leukaemia
