Definition

C-ALCL is composed of large cells with an anaplastic, pleomorphic or immuno­blastic cytomorphology that express the CD30 antigen by the majority (>75%) of the tumour cells

. Patients with C-ALCL should not have clinical evidence or history of mycosis fungoides (MF); in this setting the diagnosis should be considered transformation of MF to tumour stage, which may be CD30-positive or negative
