WHO Classification of Tumours
Polymorphic PTLD
Tumours of haematopoietic and lymphoid tissues

Definition

Polymorphic (P) PTLD are morphologically polymorphic lesions composed of immunoblasts, plasma cells and small and intermediate-sized lymphoid cells that efface the architecture of lymph nodes or form destructive extranodal masses and that do not fulfill the criteria for any of the recognized types of lymphoma described in immunocompetent hosts. Distinction of some P-PTLD from more "monomorphic" (i.e. lymphoma-like) lesions that show plasmacytic differentiation is not well-defined.
