Poorly differentiated carcinoma of the thyroid is a follicular-cell neoplasm that shows limited evidence of structural follicular cell differentiation and occupies both morphologically and behaviourally an intermediate position between differentiated (follicular and papillary carcinomas) and undifferentiated (anaplastic) carcinoma
