Stromal sarcoma, NOS
Prostate gland

Definition

A rare, malignant mesenchymal neoplasm of the prostate. Histopathologically, it may have an overall glandular growth pattern but shows an obviously malignant stroma
with increased cellularity, mitotic figures, and pleomorphism. Other stromal sarcomas consist of sheets of hypercellular atypical stroma. Some cases have been reported to metastasize to distant sites. Immunoreactivity to CD34 and may be used to distinguish them from other prostatic mesenchymal neoplasms, such as rhabdomyosarcoma and leiomyosarcoma
