Adenomyoma

Definition

Adenomyoma is a benign neoplasm characterized by the presence of a glandular and a mesenchymal (fibromyomatous) component. It occurs predominantly in the uterine corpus and the cervix. The tumour typically presents as a polypoid submucosal lesion; rare cases may be intramural or subserosal.
Adenomyoma affects women of all ages. Simple polypectomy is usually curative
