WHO Classification of Tumours
Smooth muscle tumor of uncertain malignant potential
Corpus uteri

Definition

Smooth muscle tumour of uncertain malignant potential is a smooth muscle neoplasm arising from the uterine corpus that cannot reliably be diagnosed as benign or malignant, because of ambiguous morphologic findings. In some cases, the subtype of smooth muscle differentiation (standard, epithelioid, or myxoid) cannot be determined with certainty. In other cases, diagnostic features, such as type of necrosis or interpretation of mitotic figures, are ambiguous. Differing interpretations make reliable clinical predictions impossible
