Blue nevus, NOS
Cervix uteri


A nevus characterized by the presence of benign, typically heavily pigmented, dendritic spindle-shaped melanocytes. It usually presents as a single blue or blue-black papular lesion less than 1cm in diameter.
Cervical blue nevi are most commonly located under the endocervical epithelium; occasional cases involve the ectocervix. The lesions are asymptomatic and typically found incidentally. Simple excision is usually curative
