Tumours of haematopoietic and lymphoid tissues

Definition

Acute myeloid leukaemia without maturation is characterized by a high percentage of BM blasts without significant evidence of maturation to more mature neutrophils. Blasts constitute ≥90% of the non-erythroid cells. The myeloid nature of the blasts is demonstrated by MPO or SBB (3% or more of blasts) positivity and/or Auer rods.
