A malignant neoplasm composed of uniform glycogen-rich cuboidal invasive epithelial cells that usually form papillary projections and cysts containing serous fluid. Malignancy is defined by the presence of distant metastases

Some 13% of serous cystic neoplasms of the pancreas are malignant, but they are rare. They are slowly growing neoplasms and palliative resection may be helpful even at an advanced stage. With a mean follow-up of 36 months, most patients were still alive at the time their cases were reported
