WHO Classification of Tumours
Neuroma, NOS

A tumor that grows from a nerve or is composed of nerve cells and nerve fibers. Neuromas are common in the appendix. The most frequent manifestation is the axial neuroma, which causes fibrous obliteration of the appendiceal lumen. Appendiceal neuromas may be reactive rather than neoplastic; the presence of endocrine cells should not be mistaken for carcinoid tumour.
